As trilhas são responsáveis por manter a conservação e a relevância cultural e histórica, promovendo a valorização das tradições locais, além de incentivar a prática de atividades ao ar livre e impulsionar o desenvolvimento sustentável.
Em Santa Catarina muitas trilhas perpassam pelas Unidades de Conservação Estaduais administradas pelo Instituto do Meio Ambiente (IMA), desta forma, por meio da Portaria n° 152/2024, o Instituto estabeleceu adotar o padrão de sinalização da Rede Nacional de Trilhas e Conectividade como modelo.
“A padronização ofertará ainda mais segurança aos usuários e ampliará a conectividade entre as áreas preservadas, além do mais, os percursos proporcionam oportunidades para a educação ambiental, impulsionando o desenvolvimento sustentável das regiões que abrigam as trilhas e, também, no entorno das unidades de conservação”, enfatizou a presidente do IMA, Sheila Meirelles.
Os processos de implantação e regulamentação da sinalização da Rede Trilhas nas Unidades de Conservação Estaduais serão acompanhadas por uma Comissão Técnica, e caberá ao coordenador de cada unidade, com apoio da Gerência de Áreas naturais Protegidas do IMA, vinculada à Diretoria de Biodiversidade e Florestas o projeto de implementação, execução e monitoramento da sinalização das trilhas no interior da Unidade de Conservação.
Até a trilha receber a sinalização algumas etapas são observadas, desde levantamentos das necessidades que incluem manutenção, pontos de apoio até a relevância ecológica e cênica. A comunidade é uma parceira deste trabalho, no sentido de dar orientações e também apoio logístico.
Neste mês de agosto, servidores do IMA, realizaram uma vistoria técnica na Trilha de Longo Curso (TLC) Travessia do Tabuleiro. Foram aproximadamente 40 quilômetros percorridos em diversos cenários, como transposição de rios, campos de altitude, núcleos de araucárias, entre outras espécies ameaçadas, floresta nebular e áreas de nascentes, pelas cumeeiras da Serra do Tabuleiro, que parte do município de São Bonifácio, na região de Rio Moll, e chega ao município de Santo Amaro da Imperatriz.
“Essa primeira vistoria técnica teve como objetivo a identificação de pontos de placas informativas e totens de sinalização, pontos de apoio, água e acampamento. Além disso, identificar necessidades de manutenção no trajeto da trilha. Essas informações básicas trarão ao usuário da trilha mais segurança e confiabilidade. Os próximos passos serão apresentar o projeto para a sinalização e informação para as placas de cabeceira e depois a tão esperada implantação”, explicou o gerente de Áreas Naturais Protegidas do IMA, Filipe Lemser.

Instituída pelos Ministérios do Meio Ambiente e Mudança do Clima (MMA), do Turismo (MTur) e do Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade (ICMBio), a Rede Nacional de Trilhas de Longo Curso e Conectividade (RedeTrilhas) desempenha papel crucial na promoção do ecoturismo sustentável e dos destinos turísticos de maneira responsável.
A sinalização das trilhas da REDE foi disciplinada em manual oficial do ICMBio e segue as melhores práticas internacionais, tendo sido elogiada por especialistas da World Trails Network como o melhor modelo em uso no mundo. Ela usa pegadas amarelas sobre fundo preto em um sentido e pegadas pretas sobre fundo amarelo no sentido inverso.
A conectividade entre áreas protegidas é essencial para a manutenção da saúde dos ecossistemas e foi nesse sentido que a International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) publicou em 2020 as Diretrizes para conservar a conectividade por meio de redes e corredores ecológicos por meio da World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA).
Na referida publicação é citada uma série de serviços ecossistêmicos gerados pela manutenção desses corredores ecológicos, como a migração de fauna, a manutenção dos serviços hidrológicos, a polinização, dispersão de sementes, além do aumento da resiliência climática e até mesmo o fortalecimento da saúde das pessoas, uma vez que a saúde dos ecossistemas colabora significativamente com a saúde pública.
