O presidente do Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES), Aloizio Mercadante, declarou nesta terça-feira (11) que os empréstimos do banco de fomento cresceram 21% no 1º semestre de 2023, em relação o mesmo período do ano passado. Com base na série histórica do BNDES, em valores absolutos, o banco desembolsou R$ 50,5 bilhões no 1º semestre de 2022. O aumento de 21% elevaria o financiamento para mais de R$ 61 bilhões de janeiro a junho deste ano. Segundo Mercadante, o BNDES tem colaborado com estudos e análises, junto ao Governo Federal, para aquecer a atividade econômica do país e ajudar a criar alternativas no campo da bioeconomia: “Nós tivemos um aumento na carteira de projetos no BNDES, neste semestre, de 209%. Há um gigantesco interesse de investir no Brasil e o BNDES está trabalhando intensamente para processar essas informações e buscar construir caminhos que acelerem esses investimentos”.
A despeito do Brasil ainda manter uma das maiores taxas de juros do planeta, Aloizio Mercadante afirmou que as condições macroeconômicas apontam para a possibilidade de início do ciclo de redução da Taxa Selic, que hoje está em 13,75%. “O BNDES tem uma expectativa muito promissora para este segundo semestre. Nós já financiamos mais exportações do que todo o ano passado. A mesma coisa vai acontecer em infraestrutura. Estamos, já no mês que vem, superando todo o financiamento em infraestrutura do ano passado no BNDES com essa taxa de juros, que é a maior taxa de juros. E o BNDES não recebeu um subsídio para nenhuma linha de financiamento até o momento”, destacou Mercadante.
