O BNDES (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social) divulgou seu lucro líquido recorrente, que atingiu R$ 11,9 bilhões, representando uma queda de 5% em relação ao ano anterior. No quarto trimestre, o ganho foi de R$ 5,3 bilhões, um aumento de 54,8% em comparação com o mesmo período de 2022. Os desembolsos do banco cresceram 17% em 2023, totalizando R$ 114,4 bilhões, o maior valor em cinco anos, segundo Alexandre Abreu, diretor Financeiro do BNDES. O valor destinado às pequenas e médias empresas aumentou de R$ 70 bilhões para R$ 107 bilhões em 2023, impulsionando o crédito para esse segmento.
O BNDES encerrou o ano de 2023 com um caixa próprio de R$ 34 bilhões, o maior valor desde o terceiro trimestre de 2022. Segundo Abreu, se não fossem realizados pré-pagamentos ao Tesouro, o lucro teria sido de R$ 13 bilhões. O diretor destacou que a venda de ações da carteira do BNDES teria resultado em uma perda de 28% de sua valorização, que atingiu R$ 76,1 bilhões. O patrimônio líquido do banco chegou a R$ 151,3 bilhões no último trimestre de 2023, representando um aumento de 15,2% em relação ao mesmo período do ano anterior.
